Vinhedo, May 3, 2011 -- AGV Logística, a leading integrated logistics operator and one of the largest in the country, announced today the purchase of Exata Logística and Exata E-commerce (Arex Group), providers of logistics solutions and a technology leader in the Midwest and North of the country.

With the new acquisitions, AGV continues its strategy of expansion and diversification, not only by incorporating further expertise in the technology and consumer goods sectors, but also by growing their facilities and strengthening transportation and distribution services.

"As a result of this acquisition, AGV will become the integrated logistics provider with the most comprehensive scope of services in the market, expanding its services in industrial sectors. The acquisition, along with organic growth, will bring the company's revenues to approximately R$850 million this year, as compared to R$657 million in 2010,” says Vasco Oliveira Neto, CEO of AGV.

AGV will also increase its warehousing space to approximately 400,000 square meters and become the logistics operator with the largest geographic footprint: 75 sites across 20 states serving all municipalities. The client roster now exceeds 220 companies and the company’s fleet has more than 650 vehicles.

AGV also excels in transportation and distribution, which represents approximately 70% of its revenues. "In 2010, AGV completed more than 2 million deliveries in 4,500 municipalities, which represents 99% of Brazilian GDP. With this acquisition, AGV strengthens its operations in the Midwest and North regions, which had significant growth in recent years," said Oliveira Neto.

Together with its geographical expansion, AGV will also add talent. This merger will increase staff by 11%, with more than 4,650 employees. "This transaction will add a team of senior qualified professionals with a proven track record to AGV’s successful team, which will help us to further improve our service," adds Mauricio Pastorello, Managing Director of Exata, who along with Flavio Castro, Director of Exata E-commerce, will join AGV’s executive team.

This transaction represents AGV’s commitment to its growth plan which aims to constantly improve service levels and achieve leadership in the logistics segment. "To compete with the major national and international players, we must grow in revenue, geographic presence and scope of services. This is another step in the company’s consolidation strategy, ratifying its leadership in the sector," said Thomas McDonald of Equity International and a member of AGV’s Board of Directors.
